The Adexe Grande Rose Gold Watch & Giveaway

Having a watch can instantly style up an outfit and I feel is an item really worth investing in. I've had a fair few watches in my lifetime and really depend on them since I love to be organised and stick to time limits so I always want a watch that is comfortable, easy to read but still looks fashionable. Today I'm going to be talking about the gorgeous Meek Grande Rose Gold watch which I was very lucky enough to receive and have the chance to try out in my every day life. I'm also going to be telling you how you can bag one for yourself which is super easy to enter!

The Features

Doesn't this watch ooze blogger goals? Rose gold against a matte black clock face.. yes please! So the design of this watch is pretty simple and allows you to know the time immediately after looking (perfect for me when I need to be able to glance at my watch and know what time it is within seconds). The Meek Grande Rose Gold watch is new to Adexe and is a design that I feel will be super popular with buyers. It would suit both male and females and add class to any outfit. Truthfully I was worried that the Grande version would be too big for my small wrists but fear not, the strap is very adjustable and fits snuggly onto my wrist with still a lot more room to tighten/loosen so would be a good fit for all. The clock face itself isn't too big either and measures in at 40.5mm diameter and is covered with curved hardened crystal glass which makes it so easy to clean and keep looking like new.

If you prefer to have a watch with standard numbers on then unfortunately this watch may not be appropriate but I personally prefer a more minimalistic approach when it comes to the watch face. When browsing through Adexe I knew I wanted a watch with a date and thankfully this watch has just that. It is positioned to the right hand side near the dial and is quite discreet but still visible. The straps are hand-made stainless mesh which is something I've not actually worn before and I'm pleased to say does not irritate! I have found in the past that some watches can irritate my skin when I wear them for long periods of time, however I've worn this one everyday since receiving it (apart from when I'm showering) and I have had no reactions. The watch is waterproof for 3ATM but I personally don't like to shower/bathe when I have a watch on.

Overall Thoughts

The watch itself has been a pleasure to wear and I can see myself keeping this for years to come. The watch is priced at £109 which personally I think is an absolute bargain when you consider a watch is an investment and some can go for ££££'s. If you're looking for something that is practical yet looks sophisticated on the arm then this is ideal, it's not too big or bold thus making it a massive statement but it still has that wow-factor to make people look twice.

Sleep In Style With Slenderella

We all know that sleep is important but have you ever thought investing in your pyjamas could help too? Having a pair of pjs that are comfy, easy to move in and breathable are so important to get a good nights rest. Today's post is going to discuss Slenderella and their beautiful nightwear that I had the chance to try myself. The Yarn Dyed Tartan Pyjamas

After browsing their site I settled on trying the Yarn Dyed Tartan pyjamas since I loved the print and I'm a lover of red. I also find tartan is a flattering design and is pretty classic so I knew it would go well with anything I paired it with. They do this specific tartan style in 3 options but I went with the shirt and trousers just because that is what I'm used to and since it's still pretty cold, I wanted something to keep me warm.

As stated on their website these pyjamas are described as 'button through pyjama top with long sleeves and a collar. Satin piping detail to cuff, collar and pockets. Breast pocket to left side. 100% yarn dyed cotton'. Upon opening my package, I could feel the quality was definitely apparent in the pyjamas and were super soft to the touch. They also felt thick and well made as opposed to cheaper alternatives that can feel thin and usually fade in the wash. Overall my first impression of them was good and definitely what I expected, I liked that they came wrapped in a box too which definitely adds to the value of them.

If you're wondering if I put these on as soon as they arrived.. you would be correct! When I'm at home I love to lounge in pjs so I knew that they'd get a good rigorous test on whether they are lounge-worthy or not. The first thing I noticed about putting them on is they definitely had an apparent weight to them, confirming they were made from good quality fabric that would stand the test of time. They also felt extremely soft and almost satin-like which I definitely approve of. The top fitted me really well and I was glad to see that the buttons go right up the chest, allowing me to keep my dignity and not reveal too much skin or have anything popping out!! The trousers are elasticated which I'm thankful for as I did have to get a size bigger than I usually would (10 - 12) and I was worried the whole set would be too big but the trousers fitted snuggly, just a little long if anything.
Lounging around in them was a dream and they kept me warm whilst on the couch. The only thing I would say is that the sleeves do ride up if you're sat on the couch on your phone (or basically anything where you arms are bent) so perhaps I just have longer than average arms?! However this was not a huge issue for me but thought it should be something I mentioned since I expected them to be a little longer since I sized up.

Now how did they fair in the sleeping test? Usually any pyjamas that are a shirt and trouser style I end up burning up in whilst sleeping so I was convinced this would happen with these. I was wrong! These were breathable yet still kept me toasty during the night. I could move around in them easily and the fabric didn't itch or irritate at all (something I find can happen with some nightwear which is definitely not want you want at night!).

One issue I did face is actually on the second time of wearing these. As I went to button up the shirt, one of the buttons came right off. I noticed they seem to only be attached with a small amount of thread so you need to make sure you are not heavy handed. Luckily I know the basics of sewing so I can quite easily sew it back on with no hassle but it would be nice to see the buttons sewn securely as I think it could be quite easy to pull them off.

Xtava Satin Wave 5 in 1 Curling Wand

I am a huge lover of curls in my hair and I was delighted to get the chance to try out this curler from Xtava that includes 5 different interchangeable wands. Today's post is going to be talking through why I've converted to this styler and how you can win yourself one.

The Wand & Features

The curler handle comes in a sleek black design with easy to use buttons and a display for choosing your temperature. You can choose to heat your curler from 130 degrees - 210 degrees so makes it compatible for all hair strengths and types.

What I found so helpful with this wand is that is has a 360 swivel cord that allows me to curl my hair in all different angles without the cord getting in the way which I've found a fault in my other curlers. It also has a safety feature of a 60 minute auto sleep mode for those times you're in a rush and completely forget to turn it off!

You also get a really handy travel bag for storing all of your barrels and the handle so you won't end up losing anything, such a life saver for travelling and storage.

The Barrels

There are 5 different barrels included in the set (4 pictured above) which are all ceramic tourmaline and vary in size. They do not have a cool tip which is great for getting right down to the ends of your hair but you must wear the heat protective glove included as otherwise you'll burn your fingers! Having 5 different sized barrels means you can pick and choose what type of curl you want that day. In these photos I used the 0.7" - 1" barrel (which is the one pictured in the first photo) and got the curls you can see which are brushed through and scrunched to get a more beachy look.

Using The Wand

As you can see I have quite a unique way of curling my hair and actually curl from the top of my head which is where the problem of cords get in the way. As I pointed out above, the cord is a full 360 swivel which allows it to go around the back of my head whilst I curl my hair. I used the lowest temperature setting as I have coloured hair so I try to use as little heat as possible yet still got these results. Of course if you want a tighter curl then you can either push the heat up a bit more, hold the curl for longer or change to the smaller barrel. The glove is an absolute life saver as the barrels don't have a cool tip to grip onto so I need a way of gripping my hair without burning my fingers. The fabric of the glove is a little itchy but I can justify that for 20 minutes whilst I curl my hair.

Results

I have since used the tighter wand 0.3" - 0.75" for my hair and I absolutely loved the look of it. This was a few days after and as you can see the curls are still pretty much in place! I am really enjoying using this curler and love how you can change up what curls you want for the occasion. Even better this curler is currently £21.99 on Amazon and will soon be £45.99 again.

Beauty On A Budget: Essence Products

Being able to buy makeup for a couple of pounds is always such a bargain but does the product actually work? A lot of the time you really do get what you pay for so I've decided to do a post about some Essence products that are all very inexpensive and give them a whirl! I have a few nail polishes, an eyeliner, mascara and lip product to test for you today and hopefully this could turn into a future series on my blog!

Shine Shine Shine Wet Look Lipgloss

Claiming to be a smooth, supple gloss that has a wet look effect, this is only £2 to buy! First impressions, I loved the packaging and the colour (Shade 12) but was certain this was going to be sticky, gooey and not very pigmented. I'm not a big lip gloss fan anyway just because my hair gets stuck to the gloss in any slight breeze but I had to admit, this product surprised me a lot. Swatched and on the lips it is intensely pigmented and this shade in particular oozes a gorgeous bright berry tone which is not patchy. It glides on smoothly and I didn't find it to be sticky nor gooey which considering this is £2, I was quite surprised! They do quite a few other shades in this collection and I'm very tempted to pick up some more since I enjoyed wearing this gloss. Of course, the durability of this product isn't long since it's a gloss so it does need to be topped up throughout the day.

Essence The Cushion Eyeliner

When I opened this product up I was so intrigued by it! I have never seen nor tried an eyeliner that is inside a foamy cushion and didn't have a clue what to expect. This one from Essence is £3 once again a fab bargain and I gave it a quick swatch on the back of my hand and couldn't believe the result. The line was super pigmented and intensely black without needing to go over it more than once. It took seconds to dry and did not budge when touched which is exactly what I want with an eyeliner! It even took a few wipes to get it off with a makeup wipe so I knew this product was going to be a very long lasting one. I use this eyeliner with an angled brush and simply glide the bristles along the sponge and apply it like any other eyeliner. It's so simple to use and I would definitely recommend it for both beginners and experts when it comes to liner.

Out Of Space Stories & Colour Boost Nail Polish

I've heard a lot of people really rate Essence nail polishes so I was pretty pleased to know I was soon going to find out whether they are worth it or not. I absolutely love the packaging of the 'Out Of Space Stories' range and this particular shade (01 Outta Space Is The Place) is a beautiful colour. I swatched it on a nail and as you can see, it's a pearlescent pink shade which would be a lovely subtle colour on the nails itself or could be a lovely polish topper on a different coloured base. I did not think the polish would be very pigmented just because I've tried polishes like this before and you have to add about 5 layers to even see the colour but the swatch you can see was only 1 layer! This range of polish is £2 and they do lots of different space inspired shades.

The Colour Boost range is only £1.80.. yes you heard me right, I can't quite believe it myself. For under £2 you get a super intense colour in one swipe (as it claims!). This blue colour (Shade 11) is very different to what I'd usually go for but I've now got it on my toe nails and I'm loving it. The quality of the polish is better than more expensive polishes I've tried and I would 100% recommend them. I still can't quite get over the fact that the swatch above is just one layer.. it's crazy!

Essence Lash Extension Mascara

I do love testing new mascaras and hunting for the next best from the drugstore! The bottle of this one is super cute and I love the contrast of the purple and black with the textured lid. This particular mascara is £3 and contains lengthening fibres to enhance lash length and volume. I didn't see too many fibres on the actual mascara wand but when applied to my lashes, they did seem to look longer and more voluminous but in a natural way. It claims to last up to 18hrs too which I haven't personally tested myself but I haven't experience any panda eyes, fibre fall out or loss of curl so I think it could last a pretty good amount of time. I love to layer this upon other mascaras too so that I get the fullness from one and then the lengthening of this one and it doesn't cake up or go spidery so that's another bonus.

I'm so pleasantly surprised by the items I tried from Essence and can't get over how inexpensive they are for the quality. I feel the nail polishes shocked me the most just because of their pigmentation vs the price. The eyeliner too was a really fun product to try and I loved how the applicator was completely different to anything I've tried before.

Achieve Soft & Silky Hair with Palmer's // MissBeautyEmily

Soft & Silky Hair with Palmer's

Palmer's is a brand I've always loved and seen as a really reputable brand but I've never actually tried any of their hair care until now. When approached by their PR team on whether I would like to try their products out, I was definitely up for it and received my items in a matter of days. Today's post is going to be a quick talk through of the products and my thoughts about them after using them for a couple weeks so if you're interested to see whether you should pick some up on your next shop then keep on reading.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Repairing Shampoo
Shampoo always seems to work the same on my hair, no matter what the brand, cost or ingredients.. it simply washes my hair. I wasn't expecting much from this shampoo for that reason entirely but I was actually really shocked to find that this was a lot better than most I've tried. My hair is long and I'd say medium thickness so shampoo never lathers up on the first application. I believed this was just normal for my type of hair so never really saw a fault with this but when I popped on my first application of this shampoo it lathered up immediately and had a creamy formula that felt like it was really getting into the roots of my hair. Due to the thickness of the shampoo, I felt like I literally only needed a pea sized amount (which is actually what is recommended with all shampoos but that never covers all of my hair) and when I was onto my second shampoo, I literally needed the tiniest amount. So not only was the formula really good but this product is very cost effective too, fabulous! Even better, this shampoo is a big 400ml bottle and only costs £4.19 which I would happily go out and repurchase. This shampoo receives a big thumbs up from me! Oh and by the way.. this stuff smells divine.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Repairing Conditioner
The conditioner performed just like the shampoo which I was really happy about. It once again had similar thickness which meant I didn't feel like I needed to keep going back for more conditioner to cover my hair. I left this in for around 5 - 10 minutes only because I like to keep conditioner on for as long as possible and it left my hair super silky, soft and shiny. As mentioned above, this range has a beautiful coconut scent and you can smell it for days afterwards which I love! The conditioner comes in a 250ml tube and is £4.19.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Protein Pack
This item was probably one of my favourites of the bunch because of just how amazing my hair looked afterwards. This protein pack is a 60g satchet and you pop this on for 10 minutes after shampooing or as an overnight treatment. I did this after using the Palmer's shampoo and I was convinced I'd need to use the whole pack just because with most treatments like this, I only just manage to get my hair coated in the product. However, I only needed half the amount to liberally coat my hair and I now have enough for a second treatment which I'm really happy about. It has the same scent as the rest of the products and is said to help repair weak and damaged hair. My hair has never felt so soft nor looked so healthy and shiny and I am putting it down to this product. The best thing is it's only £2.09 for a sachet which you will definitely get at least 2 uses out of depending on how long and thick your hair is.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Weightless Shine Dry Oil Mist
I've never really delved into oil mists before just because I hate adding too much product to my hair as it then ends up looking greasy and very weighed down. However, I was drawn in due to the fact it was a 'weightless' oil mist and because the other products had been so good surely this would live up to expectations? I spritzed this onto my damp hair after I'd washed it and then blowdried it to find my hair was looking a lot shinier than usual. Whether this is due to the combination of the shampoo, conditioner/protein pack and the oil I do not know, I would need to test it on it's own, but I absolutely loved the overall look and will be popping it into my hair routine from now on. The oil is £6.99 which may seem a little pricier than the other products but you only need a couple sprays on your hair so will last quite a while.

Palmer's Coconut Oil Hair Milk Smoothie
This is the only product of the bunch that I've not yet tried. I didn't want to overload my hair with product so trying to fit this into my routine has been tricky, especially since I only wash my hair once a week (Yup, you can train your hair to do that!). So I cannot review this item but I wanted to pop it in here to tell you a little more. The milk smoothie can be used on damp or dry hair, depending on your preference and it helps with the following:
Tames frizz
Adds shine
Defines curls
Smooths fly-aways
Moisturises ends of hair
Detangles
This product sounds very promising and I cannot wait to use it since the rest of the products have been such a pleasure to use. The smoothie is £4.99.

A look into Ideal World beauty products

I have heard of Ideal World for many years now but it actually has never crossed my mind as a place to shop for my beauty products. I was kindly sent over a blogger box full of goodies tailored to me! I was stunned by what I unboxed and knew I had to share with you what you can discover over at Ideal World..

Liquilift Slender Wrap

This was probably one of the only products I wouldn't have shopped for myself but I'm intrigued to see if this actually works. The wrap contains a combination of ingredients that are high in anti-oxidants which work with the skin to make it smooth, nourished and soothed. These can be applied anywhere you want by cutting them down to size and placing them over the area. One wrap is £20 and a 4pk is currently reduced to £24.99. Whether these work or not, I cannot say and I've yet to try it but it's definitely something to look into if you're interested, check them out here.

Skinn AM & PM Cleanser

Ideal World stock a lot of Skinn products and I am currently using two of their cleansers! One is designed for the morning and the other for the evening which I love the concept of. I'm really loving the PM cleanser as it's tough on makeup and smells so nice. It can also be used as a deep cleansing mask by keeping it on for around 15 minutes and leaves the skin so smooth and soft. These cleansers don't seem to be on the website but you can head over to the brand's page here.

Zhuzh 'Zhuzhette' Tan Accelerator

The brand Zhuzh is currently one of Ideal World's best sellers and this is one of the products among many available. This product works by spraying it onto the surface of your skin before going out in the sun and it will work with the melanin to enhance the natural hue. It's important to pop on some SPF beforehand though as this doesn't contain any.

As a pale skinned girl, I hate the thought of looking orange with fake tan so using a product like this which is going to work with my melanin to produce a natural colour really works for me! The Zhuzhette is a travel sized bottle of 100ml that can be popped into your bag but they do all different sizes. This bottle is £10.99 and can be found here.

Makeup Eraser

I actually just reviewed this Makeup Erase in pink over on my blog here. If you want a thorough review of how it works and whether it does what it says then be sure to read that! Ideal World are currently out of stock of the makeup erasers but keep an eye on their beauty hub page.

Estēe Lauder Gel Eyeliner

One of my favourite products in this box has to be this eyeliner from Estēe Lauder. I always wear eyeliner so to try a high end liner will be an absolute treat. This product doesn't seem to be on the Ideal World website at the moment but you can shop other products from the brand there. The packaging and liner is designed beautifully and sleek, it really does seem expensive which is what I'd expect!

Skinn Hollywood Nude Lip Palette

This palette is absolutely gorgeous and features a load of beautiful nude shades. These palettes are part of the Skinn brand, the same featured above with the cleansers. I love that this brand is doing lots of different types of makeup and this palette is £14.99. It contains 6 different shades and 2 lip brushes which are perfect for popping into your bag. Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active Eye Pads

I have awful undereyes so finding these in amongst the Ideal World goodies made me so happy! These are hydrating eye pads infused with hyaluronic acid which helps to protect the delicate skin from dehydration whilst also improving the appearance of wrinkles. I'm definitely popping these on during a pamper evening soon as they seem promising! They are £29.98 for 2 x 6 pairs which would give you a good amount of use! Have a little look at them here.

I'm really impressed with the products Ideal World has available on their site, I've never come across some of the brands but they all seem of fab quality and worth the money. Remove Makeup With Just Water?! - Makeup Eraser Review // MissBeautyEmily

Makeup Eraser Review

Do you remember when the makeup eraser became a big thing a year or so ago? Well it's back and I got the chance to put it to the test! Is it really possible to remove makeup with just water and a cloth? I'm going to talk you through my honest thoughts of the eraser and whether I think it's worth the price tag of £17.50 (From Qwerkity)

How does it work?

The makeup eraser is made from knitted polyester and silk fibre which when combined with water creates the process of which breaks up the oil that bonds makeup to the skin. There are two different sides, one being the side you use to remove the makeup and the other side (which has the tag on it) is the exfoliation side that you can use to gently remove dead skin cells during the process. The eraser is perfect for any type of skin types like sensitive skin and can be used for all makeup, including waterproof!
Luckily, this cloth can be washed up to 100 times which makes it a lot more cost effective compared to makeup wipes (and also eco-friendly due to no waste!). It's advised to wash the cloth before use so that all the loose fibres and colouring is completely gone before putting it near the skin.

How did it perform?

Using water and a cloth is not a normal thing for me to do so admittedly it was weird at first! But it began removing my makeup instantly and all my base products came off with ease as you can probably already see from the orange marks on the cloth! Eye makeup was a little bit harder to remove due to the mascara but magically, it did the job! After focusing on the eyes for a few minutes, they were completely free from any makeup including mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner. It did give me pretty bad panda eyes though so I had to keep going back in underneath to remove any traces which proved a task but it wasn't too troublesome! The whole process didn't take me long and felt less harsh to my skin compared to wipes as I didn't need to tug or pull it which is never advised especially near the eyes!

Results

This was the end result of my makeup removal and I was actually surprised it wasn't more marked up due to wearing a lot of mascara and liner. You can't remove the black stains from the cloth so it needs to be machine washed after a few uses if you want to keep it hygienic and clean, however the foundation came out with a few squeezes in the water.

Is it worth it?

The Makeup Eraser definitely does what it says on the box, it removes makeup easily with water including waterproof and does so with ease. It felt good on the skin and didn't take too long either which I was pleased about as I'm guilty of being lazy when it comes to taking off my makeup. The price tag may seem a bit pricey at first but due to it being reusable and washable, it would definitely save you money in the long run and I like the fact there will be no landfill waste. I think this would be perfect for someone who cannot use products on the skin due to either allergies or sensitivity because this literally only uses water which should not be a problem for most. I definitely enjoyed using this item and would give it a thumbs up!

Little Known Box May 2017 Review

During May I received the May edition of the Little Known Box which also happens to be their birthday box to celebrate one year of their brand! Today's post will be going through what I received in the box and whether I feel LKB is worth subscribing to!

Packaging

There's something about sleek black packaging that makes something seem so luxurious and elegant. LKB did a fab job of portraying this by packaging the contents in black tissue paper, tied with a black ribbon all encased in a black box. There are gold accents throughout the packaging too, including the text and borders.
The box itself would make a great storage box as it's really sturdy and I think I may pop lots of skin care items in there or perhaps jewellery! Something I forgot to make apparent in the photos is the leaflet of what's inside the box. I loved the information LKB provided as it explained what the product was and how much it would be to purchase.

Seacret Makeup Remover Wipes

I think makeup wipes are great to pop into a box as I tend to stick to my usual Superdrug wipes and really don't experiment much at all. When researching these online I couldn't find much information on them at all apart from the fact that they contain Dead Sea minerals that allows easier penetration of the skin so the radiance and tone of the skin is immediately improved. The RRP of these appear to be $25 USD on their official website which ends up being around £19! I don't think I'd ever go out and willingly pay that much for makeup wipes I've never tried before so to have the chance to now is really helpful!

Technic Pink Sparkle Highlighting Powder

I actually already own this highlighter but I'm going to be keeping this for a future giveaway! I absolutely love Technic products so I was happy to see a brand that deserves recognition in the box. Technic are really affordable but still good quality so is a great brand to introduce to new people. This highlighter retails for £1.79

Spacemasks

Another new brand for me (and in fact quite a newbie to the market after googling them!). Spacemasks are pretty much what they say on the packet.. a mask that transports you away from Earth to relax. The eye mask heats up when applied and helps the wearer to relax and unwind. The design of the mask itself matches the packaging, it is blue with lots of stars on which I think is cute! The masks are currently £15 for a pack of 5 (£3 each)

Nanshy Large Blending Brush

I really love when a box allows you to experiment with new brands and Nanshy happened to be another unknown brand to myself. I was happy to find a blending brush too because I use so many different brushes when doing my eyeshadow so I like to trial others. Nanshy is an approved PETA brand, cruelty free and 100% vegan. The bristles are synthetic and also antibacterial which is perfect for the eye area. This single brush is £5.95 which is reasonable for a well made product.

Ooh! Face Oil

Face oils seem to be a big trend at the moment and this one from Ooh! is an organic argan moisture retention oil. This helps to regenerate tissue and keep the skin moisturised so a perfect treat for anyone with dry skin. This bottle is a travel size and costs £9.50. Ooh! do lots of other types of face oils too which are catered for all different skin types.

Bettyhula Moisturising Cream

Probably my favourite item of the box just because it smells amazing.. this is the Bettyhula cream. The scent of this is champagne and spice which I honestly thought would smell horrible as I don't like anything spicy scented -- oh how I was wrong! This smells divine and very sophisticated which makes me want to pop this on in the evening before a night out or meal out. The tub is pretty big measuring in at 120ml for £12.99. This cream is proven to be beneficial for scars, sun burn relief, oily skin, combo skin, dry skin and also scarring which makes it a great all rounder.

Little Known Box Black Zipper Bag

As an added extra since it was their birthday box, LKB included this handy little black bag that can be used for whatever you wish! I'm always needing extra storage so anything like this is greatly received!

Is Little Known Box worth it?

Little Known Box is £15.95 per box which is about average for a subscription box and you don't have to commit to a certain amount of months like most subscription services. The May box total was around £59 which is a pretty incredible saving when you consider the one off price. I loved how they included lots of soon to be discovered brands, allowing us to give them a chance before committing to buying the item again. Most of the products were full size too excluding the face oil and mask which I'm glad to see as I've seen a lot of boxes only ever offer sample sized products for the same sort of price.
All in all I really recommend checking out Little Known Box as it contained some fab gems in there and appears to be a really high quality box for a highstreet price!
