A look into Ideal World beauty products

I have heard of Ideal World for many years now but it actually has never crossed my mind as a place to shop for my beauty products. I was kindly sent over a blogger box full of goodies tailored to me! I was stunned by what I unboxed and knew I had to share with you what you can discover over at Ideal World..

Liquilift Slender Wrap

This was probably one of the only products I wouldn't have shopped for myself but I'm intrigued to see if this actually works. The wrap contains a combination of ingredients that are high in anti-oxidants which work with the skin to make it smooth, nourished and soothed. These can be applied anywhere you want by cutting them down to size and placing them over the area. One wrap is £20 and a 4pk is currently reduced to £24.99. Whether these work or not, I cannot say and I've yet to try it but it's definitely something to look into if you're interested, check them out here.

Skinn AM & PM Cleanser

Ideal World stock a lot of Skinn products and I am currently using two of their cleansers! One is designed for the morning and the other for the evening which I love the concept of. I'm really loving the PM cleanser as it's tough on makeup and smells so nice. It can also be used as a deep cleansing mask by keeping it on for around 15 minutes and leaves the skin so smooth and soft. These cleansers don't seem to be on the website but you can head over to the brand's page here.

Zhuzh 'Zhuzhette' Tan Accelerator

The brand Zhuzh is currently one of Ideal World's best sellers and this is one of the products among many available. This product works by spraying it onto the surface of your skin before going out in the sun and it will work with the melanin to enhance the natural hue. It's important to pop on some SPF beforehand though as this doesn't contain any.

As a pale skinned girl, I hate the thought of looking orange with fake tan so using a product like this which is going to work with my melanin to produce a natural colour really works for me! The Zhuzhette is a travel sized bottle of 100ml that can be popped into your bag but they do all different sizes. This bottle is £10.99 and can be found here.

Makeup Eraser

I actually just reviewed this Makeup Erase in pink over on my blog here. If you want a thorough review of how it works and whether it does what it says then be sure to read that! Ideal World are currently out of stock of the makeup erasers but keep an eye on their beauty hub page.

Estēe Lauder Gel Eyeliner

One of my favourite products in this box has to be this eyeliner from Estēe Lauder. I always wear eyeliner so to try a high end liner will be an absolute treat. This product doesn't seem to be on the Ideal World website at the moment but you can shop other products from the brand there. The packaging and liner is designed beautifully and sleek, it really does seem expensive which is what I'd expect!

Skinn Hollywood Nude Lip Palette

This palette is absolutely gorgeous and features a load of beautiful nude shades. These palettes are part of the Skinn brand, the same featured above with the cleansers. I love that this brand is doing lots of different types of makeup and this palette is £14.99. It contains 6 different shades and 2 lip brushes which are perfect for popping into your bag. Check out the shades here.

Elizabeth Grant Hydra Cell Active Eye Pads

I have awful undereyes so finding these in amongst the Ideal World goodies made me so happy! These are hydrating eye pads infused with hyaluronic acid which helps to protect the delicate skin from dehydration whilst also improving the appearance of wrinkles. I'm definitely popping these on during a pamper evening soon as they seem promising! They are £29.98 for 2 x 6 pairs which would give you a good amount of use! Have a little look at them here.

I'm really impressed with the products Ideal World has available on their site, I've never come across some of the brands but they all seem of fab quality and worth the money. If you're a fellow beauty lover then I'd definitely recommend checking out the Ideal World website to take a look at what they have to offer.

Have you ever shopped at Ideal World?

Remove Makeup With Just Water?! - Makeup Eraser Review // MissBeautyEmily

makeup eraser 18:49

Makeup Eraser Review

Do you remember when the makeup eraser became a big thing a year or so ago? Well it's back and I got the chance to put it to the test! Is it really possible to remove makeup with just water and a cloth? I'm going to talk you through my honest thoughts of the eraser and whether I think it's worth the price tag of £17.50 (From Qwerkity)

How does it work?

The makeup eraser is made from knitted polyester and silk fibre which when combined with water creates the process of which breaks up the oil that bonds makeup to the skin. There are two different sides, one being the side you use to remove the makeup and the other side (which has the tag on it) is the exfoliation side that you can use to gently remove dead skin cells during the process. The eraser is perfect for any type of skin types like sensitive skin and can be used for all makeup, including waterproof!
Luckily, this cloth can be washed up to 100 times which makes it a lot more cost effective compared to makeup wipes (and also eco-friendly due to no waste!). It's advised to wash the cloth before use so that all the loose fibres and colouring is completely gone before putting it near the skin.

How did it perform?

Using water and a cloth is not a normal thing for me to do so admittedly it was weird at first! But it began removing my makeup instantly and all my base products came off with ease as you can probably already see from the orange marks on the cloth! Eye makeup was a little bit harder to remove due to the mascara but magically, it did the job! After focusing on the eyes for a few minutes, they were completely free from any makeup including mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner. It did give me pretty bad panda eyes though so I had to keep going back in underneath to remove any traces which proved a task but it wasn't too troublesome! The whole process didn't take me long and felt less harsh to my skin compared to wipes as I didn't need to tug or pull it which is never advised especially near the eyes!

Results

This was the end result of my makeup removal and I was actually surprised it wasn't more marked up due to wearing a lot of mascara and liner. You can't remove the black stains from the cloth so it needs to be machine washed after a few uses if you want to keep it hygienic and clean, however the foundation came out with a few squeezes in the water.

Is it worth it?

The Makeup Eraser definitely does what it says on the box, it removes makeup easily with water including waterproof and does so with ease. It felt good on the skin and didn't take too long either which I was pleased about as I'm guilty of being lazy when it comes to taking off my makeup. The price tag may seem a bit pricey at first but due to it being reusable and washable, it would definitely save you money in the long run and I like the fact there will be no landfill waste. I think this would be perfect for someone who cannot use products on the skin due to either allergies or sensitivity because this literally only uses water which should not be a problem for most. I definitely enjoyed using this item and would give it a thumbs up!
You can check out the Makeup Eraser here

Have you ever tried a makeup removal tool like this? What are your thoughts?

DIY Beauty Facial At Home // MissBeautyEmily

DIY Beauty Facial At Home

This time last year I had no idea what a spa facial was and would never have considered having a treatment done.. since training as a beauty therapist I've been learning all types of treatments including a male and female facial. Facials are a great way to treat your skin to a detox by using a range of specific skin treats to help combat any issues you may have. Today's post is going to talk you through how you can achieve one at home with the aid of easy to buy products and also the handy facial steamer from Panasonic.

1. Cleanse

The first step of a routine (after figuring out your concerns and assumed skin type) is to do a full cleanse of your skin. There are so many cleansers out there on the market so the product you choose would rely entirely on your budget. I was taught to do a pre-cleanse and then a full cleanse with any product of my choice from the Dermalogica collection. An eye and lip cleanse is also recommended to get rid of any pesky makeup! I highly recommend trying the Dermalogica Pre-cleanse and have actually ordered a bottle myself because it literally melts away foundation and other face products with ease. For your second cleanse, it's best to use one suited to your skin. In my case, I'd use an oily skin specific product but it will obviously differ between people. Boots have a page full of different cleansers here.

2. Tone & Analysis

Toning after a cleanse is great to be sure all traces of dirt, oil and impurities are removed effectively before putting any product on the skin. There are lots of toners available and I just tend to get any toner that's available, usually a Simple one. Now the analysis part is probably the most difficult to do at home. A therapist will use a mag-lamp to look at your skin and decide what type of skin you have and what concerns there may be such as acne, redness, sensitivity, dehydration etc. I would recommend having a little look in a magnified mirror yourself and seeing whether you can determine what you feel your skin type is and if you have any concerns.

3. Exfoliate

Exfoliation usually happens after a skin analysis to help remove any surface dead skin cells to create a smoother look. If you have oily skin then a normal scrub is recommended. I love to use scrubs such as the St. Ives Pink Lemon & Madarin. If you have dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin then a gentle scrub is recommended! I was taught to use Microfoliant from Dermalogica which is a powder that you mix in with water to create a light paste that gently removes the surface cells without being too harsh or abrasive.

4. Steam

If you're a female then steaming is very recommend! If you're a male then the skin warming device used is hot towels which are used to help open up the pores of the tough male skin. I came across this nifty little facial steamer from Panasonic which is an at-home steamer that you simply place in front of you. Steaming is essential if you want product to get deep within the skin and work well so I always recommend this step. You can even use this specific steamer as a way of removing makeup (even mascara) or as a primer before makeup.

5. Mask

In a professional facial there would be a full face, chest, shoulder and neck massage but unfortunately that's something not achievable on your own (I wish!) so the next step would be a mask. Masks differ entirely with what your problem areas and skin type is. Multi-masking has become quite a big thing too so if you suffer with multiple concerns, you can apply different masks to different areas. I love using clay masks such as the Bloomtown Botanicals Clay & Tea Tree Mask for my oily, spot-prone skin.

6. Tone & Moisturise

The last step is to tone once more and moisturise! As mentioned above, toning gets rid of leftover product, oils and impurities whilst closing up the pores so that they are no longer open to the elements. Moisturising is very important no matter what skin type you have, it helps to prevent your skin drying out and looking aged. If you're wanting a good heavy duty moisturiser then once more I recommend looking into Dermalogica but if you're on a budget then check out the Simple moisturiser that cater for different skin types.

Voila! That is your easy at-home facial complete and you're on your way to healthy, glowing skin! I highly recommend doing this thorough treatment every 4 weeks to ensure your skin is at it's best. I admittedly was never really into skin care until I started my course but now I can't get enough of it and I'm really enjoying the benefits.

Bloomtown Botanicals - Skincare Saviours // MissBeautyEmily

Bloomtown Botanicals - Skincare Saviours

I love discovering new brands that are on the market that work a treat but to discover that Bloomtown is actually based locally to me is even better! The lovely founders of the company allowed me to pick a couple items of my choice to try out and I had the hard decision of which ones! I suffer from problematic skin and ingrown hairs so what would be better than a clearing mask and a good ol' scrub?!

The Clearing - Black Clay & Tea Tree Mask
Clay masks are always the way forward for me and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The jar contains 60ml which is definitely enough for 25+ applications and costs £10. It contains 6 acne fighting ingredients including tea tree oil so is very much suited to anyone who suffers with acne. My experience with this mask was a good one, it was easy to apply and quite thick so meant I really didn't need much until my whole face was covered. This mask isn't drying due to it's glycerine base which helps to get the acne fighting ingredients directly to the pores for fast results so if you do try this mask out, don't sit around wondering why it hasn't dried down yet! The only thing I wasn't too keen on was the scent, it is quite overpowering and not a favourite of mine but I can easily look past that knowing the mask itself is doing good for my skin.
Check out the mask here: The Clearing Mask

The Grove - Blood Orange & Pink Grapefruit Sugar Scrub
I do love my scrubs so I knew I needed to try out one from Bloomtown! It was a hard decision deciding which scent to pick as they do quite a few but I settled on blood orange and grapefruit as I thought it would be fitting for summer. All of their scrubs are made from scratch with natural exfoliants, plant oils and botanical ingredients. They do two different jar sizes - standard (£12) and mini (£5). I picked the mini jar which is 68g so that I could try it out but a standard jar is 285g. I've been using this scrub on my legs and found it to be really gentle on the skin but it still had the power to get rid of any dead skin buildup. I loved the scent of it, it was really fresh and fruity and is unlike any of my other scrubs (which always tend to feel really harsh and abrasive on my skin too).
Check out the scrub here: The Grove Scrub

If you haven't heard of Bloomtown before then I highly recommend you check out their products, everything is hand crafted in Cornwall whilst being palm oil-free and cruelty free. Even a small percentage of your purchase goes towards the Orangutan Emergency Centre in Indonesia. You can find their website here.

beauty 20:00

Hey everyone ♡

I've seen some pretty cute beauty gift sets that are available at the drugstore for affordable prices so I have decided to narrow them down to show you all what's on offer.

♡ Zoella Cosy Toesy Bath Soak and Shower Cream with Cosy Socks ♡

Such a long title! But this little gift set looks so girly and would be a lovely little present to give to someone. As the title suggests, you get Zoella's popular Soak Opera bath soak and shower cream and then a pair of gorgeous blue and white polka dot fluffy socks. I have to admit I'm a huge lover of wearing fluffy socks during the festive time so why not give some away? This gift set is £10 and can be found here.

♡ Real Techniques Deluxe Holiday Set ♡

Although this is a slightly more expensive gift set, I am in love with what you get in this package! You get the following:

- Multi-task Brush (Powder, blush & bronzer application)

- Tapered Foundation Brush

- Angled Highlighter Brush

- Base Shadow Brush

-Fine Liner Brush

- Clutch bag to store these in

So you get some pretty decent brushes for an affordable £20 which had actually been reduced from £30! You can find this specific set here.

♡ Nivea Skin Gorgeousness Gift Set ♡

You can never say no to skin care and this set includes some very useful products. The gorgeous pink bag contains a waterlily & oil shower gel, a powder touch roll-on deodorant and a moisturiser. So for £7 I think this is an absolute steal! Take a look at it here.

♡ Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush & Highlighting Expert ♡

Can I just point out how beautiful these palettes look? You also get two brushes with it as well which is amazing for the price. The blushes range from peaches to pinks so there's something to suit all! The highlighters also compliment the blushes, meaning there is a match for any complexion and look. You can purchase this for £10 here.

♡ STUDIO LONDON Glitter Liquid Eyeliner Set ♡

This set contains four glitter liners and one black eyeliner. The colours included are bronze, gold, blue and silver which gives someone a huge variety to create different looks. These would be perfect since glitter eyeliner is a statement for Christmas and New Years. These are now £6 instead of £8 here.

♡

Hopefully these 5 gift sets have given you a small idea of what exactly is on offer! I've tried choosing a variety of different gift sets to fit to different people i.e - makeup, skincare, brushes etc whilst still staying in the beauty category.
Thanks for reading!
