Now I had some fabulous ideas for this post.. picture a beautiful log cabin, a burning fire and a cosy atmosphere.. screams Christmas right? That's exactly where I envisioned my photos and I'm lucky to have someone close to me who owns just this! Then of course my car decided it didn't want to work anymore and I couldn't travel there (just typical!). So unfortunately this post hasn't gone to plan as I anticipated so I hope you appreciate my effort to get some sort of photos up! I don't tend to delve too much into fashion photography either so this is all a huge learning curve for me.
Anyway, with that explanation out the way, I'm going to be talking you through 3 top Christmas picks of mine and my tips on how to make them cosy and casual for day time and then appropriate for a more dressy event.

Jumper Dresses
I have always wanted a jumper dress and I've never been able to find one that fits nicely without being too tight but doesn't make me look frumpy. I was pleasantly surprised to find PrettyLittleThing's Christmas jumper dresses are the perfect style for me! The 'Mince Pies Before Guys' piece is a bit more fitted than 'Snow What' so if you like to show off your curves then this style would be more for you! 'Snow What' is a bit more baggier which of course is not bad, it actually makes it more cosy to lay about it. As you can see I find jumper dresses are sufficient enough by themselves to be casual and easy to wear around the house. The fabric of both of these are super thick and warm, allowing me to actually have my legs out and not be cold. They are super easy to move about in which is what I want when I'm getting some house chores done or finishing off some blog posts on the sofa. I am wearing both of these in a size 8 and the length of them are great, I always worry that I need to size up to get more length to my garments but luckily PLT have made sure these jumpers dresses cover your dignity!
Classic Xmas Jumper with a modern twist!
Now of course I had to get a standard Christmas jumper and I chose to get this bright red and white cropped jumper with the slogan 'Sleigh Ma Name, Sleigh Ma Name' which I feel gives it a modern twist on a classic Christmas style. By itself, it makes a great casual jumper to have on around the house or to run errands. I paired mine with some pyjama bottoms because I love to have lounging pants on around the house. Any type of relaxed fit bottoms will work with this jumper as it's block colour and quite plain in design which I much prefer. As mentioned this jumper is cropped on me so if you'd prefer it to be a regular type then I would suggest sizing up, I got a size S/M. The fabric of this jumper is quite thick which I didn't expect so this would definitely keep you warm when chilly despite the cropped part. I have to admit I've never been a huge fan of Christmas jumpers but I'm a real fan of this one since it's not too in your face but has a festive feel.
Jumper Dresses for Night
Jumper dresses are great to chill out inside but an easy way of spicing them up for an evening is as simple as your shoes and makeup choice! I paired some gorgeous knee high boots with both jumper dresses and it really added an edge to them both. My personal favourite is the 'Snow What' combo and I had to admit, it made me feel pretty sassy. I think these both would be killer outfits for a Christmas party. I always like to have a simple bag so it doesn't take away from the outfit and in this case I had this studded one that only cost me a fiver! Finally, I can never be without my highlighter. I wear it day and night but to make it more evening appropriate, I'll wear one that packs more of a punch like this Becca Champagne Pop - a perfect golden glow that'll catch in the festive lights.
Classic Xmas Jumper for Night
Christmas jumpers are definitely a bit more tricky to make look 'put together' and evening appropriate depending on the design which is why I love this particular one. Paired with some black skinny jeans and chelsea boots, it goes from being a casual jumper to sophisticated evening attire. I paired this with a red lip as I find a statement lipstick like this dresses any look up and of course fits well with the whole Christmas feel (not to mention it went with the jumper itself!). I'm sporting the same black bag again just because it's simple and goes well with the colours whilst not taking any attention away from the jumper. Going back to the slogan too, I feel the modern twist to it just makes it even better for an evening event and could even be a conversation starter since it made me laugh when I read 'Sleigh Ma Name'.
