Summer Fragrances Picks For 2017

Summer is approaching and I love to wear a light fresh scent during the hot months. I personally feel like perfumes are too heavy during the hopefully hot weather and steer more towards body sprays and mists. I've picked out 3 brands that I've been absolutely loving throughout the spring to summer transition.

So..? Fragrance

So..? have released 6 fab new scents to their range which are all very different from each other but smell divine! These bottles contain 100ml and are simple to pop into your handbag! I absolutely love their summery and bright patterns that all correspond with their fragrance. My favourites are probably vanilla, musk and pink grapefruit but the rest are still just as good.

The new range consists of:
Pink Grapefruit - Zesty citrus, mango and passionfruit
Vanilla - Sweet dreamy vanilla
Sparkling Tea - Green tea, bergamot and mandarin
Rose Petals - Pink and white roses
Musk - Bergamot, sandalwood and musk

Body Fantasies

Body Fantasies have now launched 4 new scents that I have fallen in love with! Even better, their whole range can now be purchased at a bigger size of 236ml which is what is shown in the photo above! But of course if you're after a handy bag sized version then there are 94ml bottles available. I love the look of the bottles too, each come in a gorgeous colour with an image on the front of the corresponding fragrance. It's hard to choose a favourite from these four as I genuinely love them all but cotton candy has been the one I've used most, it's so sweet and I love it!

The range consists of:
Cotton Candy - Sparkling raspberry, cotton candy, strawberry sugar, whipped vanilla and caramel
Kissing In The Rain - Spring flowers, orange, spring rain, water lily and honeysuckle
Vanilla - Tangerine, pineapple, vanilla bean, vanilla musk, caramel
Pink Sweet Pea Fantasy - Cyclamen, passion flower, musk, grapefruit, raspberry and passionfruit

Accessorize Love Lily

When I saw the bottle of this fragrance I was in awe! The bottle is almost like a crystal that feels and looks luxurious. The cap of the bottle has a beautiful pink and yellow flower inside which makes it look just that extra bit special! This is not a perfume as such but definitely has more power than a body spray. It is a 75ml bottle that oozes notes of raspberry, orange, jasmine and sweet vanilla and could quite easily become your go to scent for the summery months. Even the box it comes in is very pretty with it's vibrant pink packaging and neon coloured flowers plastered over it. This is the first Accessorize fragrance I've tried and I've been very impressed.

Top 5 Drugstore Blushes For Summer // MissBeautyEmily

Hello Everyone!

Today's post is all about blush and my top 5 for summer! It was a pretty difficult decision to select just five blushes but I managed it so keep on reading to see my personal best for the summer months.

Makeup Revolution Blushing Hearts Triple Baked Blusher - Iced Hearts:
These are quite obviously a dupe of Too Faced but these cute little heart blushes are only £5! Iced hearts is a lovely bronzed pink shade when mixed together with gorgeous shimmer and glowy-ness. You can even use these shades separately if you want more of a light pink look or vice versa. The bronzed effect makes it perfect for summer and can really highlight you face!

Sleek Pink Lemonade Blush Trio:
This trio is quite raved about in the blogger community! The colours are the perfect pink shades for the warmer months as they are a stunning pop of colour on the cheeks. The middle shade is a cream blush which will add extra staying power in the warmth. These are very pigmented so you can build it up if you like that look! The two powder blushes have very slight shimmer in but nothing crazy, these catch and reflect the summer sunshine lovely.

Soap and Glory Love At First Blush:
Another baked blush (actually I think all my picks are baked blushes except for the sleek trio, oops!) This single blush combines whites, bronzey pinks and browns for that perfect golden pink glow. This blush isn't super pigmented but I like that as it gives a healthy glow to your cheeks without looking OTT. You could even use this product as an eyeshadow palette by using a small brush on each individual colour, what a lovely bronze eye look that would be!

Milani Corallina Baked Blush:
I personally think Milani Baked Blushes are one of the best out there in the drugstore! This blush is an orangey pink/red with gold and white accents so when on the cheeks looks bloody gorgeous. It's very pigmented so I recommend being careful with it, it's packed with shimmer too but that doesn't transfer too much onto the cheeks thankfully.

Milani Berry Amore Baked Blush:
It was only right to include one of my most used blushes in my collection. This one is a dark pink and bronze merge that creates a stunning golden berry tone on the cheeks (which means it's totally wearable all year round, not just summer!) This blush doesn't appear as shimmery as corallina either but does catch the light and emit a glow in the sun.

How To Achieve The Smoothest Shave EVER! // MissBeautyEmily

Hello everyone!

It's finally summer! Although the British weather is reflecting winter right now with lots of rain and cloud but what were us brits meant to expect?? Fingers crossed the sun will shine before summer ends and that we get at least a few days of sunshine to enjoy. With that said, I'm here to talk about shaving and how I've managed to get an incredibly smooth shave from a razor! (Yes, I found a razor that doesn't cause any friction or cuts!) I'm sure you're pretty eager to find out what this product is so lets get on with it!

Friction Free Shaving

Friction Free Shaving are an incredible subscription service that send you your pick of razor and then each month you'll be topped up with blades from as little as £3! There is a choice of 3 razors that differentiate between blade numbers. This cheapest has 2 blades heads, the middle band has 3 blade heads and then the most expensive (at only £7 a month) has 5 blade heads. I chose the 5 blade headed razor which is a gorgeous rose gold colour so perfect for us stereotypical bloggers and youtubers right?

The idea behind FFS is to let us ladies know that we pay far too much for razor blade refills and overuse them (because they're so damn expensive!) which causes our skin to have to deal with horrible bacteria and blunt blades, eventually leading to those little nicks we get on our skin and lets face it, they aren't nice!

The service is professional and reliable and allow you to cancel or change your subscription at any time. Another awesome idea of theirs is that if you find you aren't using all the blades that you get through the post and can't use them all up then you can choose to receive an alternative gift to an equivalent value for the next month! I think that's such a good idea especially if you only shave for special occasions so don't require tons of refills.

Shaving with FFS

I received my shaver in a lovely white recyclable box the other week and was very keen to try it out asap! I have to admit I was astounded at how the razor worked and that's no exaggeration. I exfoliated my legs as usual and prepped them with women's shaving foam as I like to have a barrier between hair and blade during a shave. The blade glided along my skin like silk which I don't even get with my pretty expensive Venus Rollerball Razor and it didn't even feel like I was touching my skin let alone shaving it. I always tend to get little cuts when I shave even when I try to be as careful as possible but this razor caused no cuts or irritation which surprised me because as I've said before, I've purchased much more expensive razors and thought it was just my skin and perhaps my method of how I shaved.
Once I'd shaved both legs fully, they felt lovely and soft like I'd waxed them and I found my shave lasted 1 - 3 days. I have to admit that I am a dark haired girl so shaving does not last long for me and I have to shave pretty much every other day for a smooth look (Brunette problems..) so if you're blonde you'd probably have silky looking legs for a week!

Overview

I think it's clear to see that I am sold on this amazing service! I was kindly gifted this razor with 4 blades but as always I give my honest opinion and I was gobsmacked by it's performance (so much so that I went and tweeted immediately after trying it for the first time!)

Told you I wasn't joking! I headed straight to Twitter after it! Fake Tan For Pale Complexions -- Review & Comparisons // MissBeautyEmily

Hello everyone!

If you know me at all, you will know I am extremely pale and instead of tanning, I simply burn. Sound familiar? Well I've found 2 gorgeous tanners that are perfect for my pale complexion. One works amazing for my legs whilst the other does wonders for my arms. I was kindly sent these two items to review but as always these are my honest opinions and I'll be showing you my before and after shots so you can see the actually difference and it's not me spouting nonsense!

Madame LA LA

The Product/What It Claims:

This tan comes in three options: normal, light and a face bronzer serum. I would have chosen the light option but they didn't have it in stock at the time so I took my chance on the normal tan and I was pleasantly surprised that I ended up looking natural and sun kissed.
The tan is in a nicely presented pump bottle which distributes a good amount of bronze foam onto your hand which goes a long way on the skin (I use approx 3 - 4 small pumps on my lower legs). I absolutely love the design of the packaging too, it arrives in a white box with bold black text and accents of gold which is the exact same on the bottle. It really stands out in my bathroom and is very pleasing to look at.
So what does the tan claim and do? Well Madama LA LA tan is a quick-dry DD product which basically means it's a dynamic do-all that's infused with ingredients such as coco water, aloe, green tea and vitamin E (a huge bonus for the skin). The tan itself is an instant glow and adapts to your current skin tone which is probably why it worked so well with me being pale. The product also claims it lasts for up to 10 days which is very promising!

Process:
So this product promised a lot but did it deliver? I'm going to talk you through the process of how I got my legs looking sun kissed and my thoughts of it.
I exfoliated and moisturised before applying my tan as I'm sure we all know that applying tan straight onto un-cleansed skin in a big no-no and will only lead you to a patchy, flaky tan (ew!). I let my moisturiser settle into my skin before pumping the foam into my hand and smoothing it into my skin in an up/down motion to make sure the tan applied evenly and not streaky. At first the foam was very dark and I was scared it would not blend into my skin but if you continue to work it into your legs then the product colour fades into a gorgeous brown glow instead of a scary dark mess!
I made sure to work on the bottom portion of my leg first, distributing most onto the actual front and back of my leg whilst being slightly more sparse on areas such as my ankle to avoid patchiness. Once I had that portion done, I would move onto my upper leg where I'd go up to my hip bone. If I was to wear a bikini I would obviously tan the whole area so my stomach isn't stark white but for this trial period I knew I wouldn't be braving the cold just yet!
It was the same process on my thigh, pumping foam into my hand and rubbing it into my skin until it left a glow that I was happy with. With that full leg done, I move onto my other leg so that I have a matched tan and that is all! If you're like me and use your hands to tan, be sure to scrub your hands with some exfoliant and soap, otherwise you get awful tan hands!

Final thoughts:
Apart from my initial thought of the tan being too dark for me, I was pleased to find out that it gave me a gorgeous sun kissed glow that looked natural and not orange or fake. The only problem I had was that the second time I topped up my tan, it stuck to my ankles horribly and left me with an orange patch on both ankles but that is mostly my fault as I shouldn't have topped that area up since it didn't need to be done and I didn't exfoliate massively as I didn't want to wash away my tan fully (Forgive me, I'm new to tanning okay?).
I would definitely recommend this tan to anyone who is looking for something that gives a natural look to their skin. Even if you're a beginner like me, you do not need experience to use this product as it works a treat!

Cocoa Brown Gentle Bronze Gradual Tan

The Product/What It Claims:

This tan is a lotion instead of a foam like Madame LA LA and is in a squeezy tube, instead of it being instant this product is more gradual as the name suggests which allows you more control of building up the colour of your tan. This is ideal for my arms as I have them on show at work so I didn't want to experience any orange disasters! This tan has moisturising properties too so your skin will be left feeling smooth and soft.

Process:
The process of this tan is the same as the other tan I used. I made sure to exfoliate and moisturise generously before applying this gradual tan onto my arms, rubbing it in so it works right into the skin. The lotion gives off a subtle glow at first, an almost 'barely there' glow and it slowly builds and develops through out the day to give a more bronzed look which is once again super natural on my complexion.

Final thoughts:
I was once again pleased with this product as I didn't have any horrible disaster and it gave a gorgeous, healthy glow. The only problem I had was my watch rubbed away the tan underneath the strap so when I took my watch off there was a white line of untanned skin, but due to my nature of work (cleaning) and constantly wearing a watch I cannot complain!
If you're too anxious to try out a proper tan then definitely give a gradual tanner like Cocoa Brown's a go instead!

I'm super pleased to have taken the plunge and tried out both a fake tan and gradual tanner as I was super happy with the results of my tan and my main issue was for it to look natural and it definitely delivered that!
